A traditional drum mirrors the rhythm inherent in all things. For thousands of years, tribal societies the world over have used the drum to connect each person to a ritual or ceremony where their combined energies can be expressed in prayer, healing, gratitude, and meditative journeys to seek information. The drum is a tool that synchronizes our minds, bodies, and spirits to the rhythms of our earthly existence. The warm, sonic vibrations of the drum envelop us and subtly remind us of the first sound each human being ever heard or felt, the double heartbeat of child and mother resonating within the womb. Alone or in groups, softly beating a rhythm on the drum clears the mind of chaotic thoughts and energies, thus creating a cleansed and suitable place for productive meditation and connection. The essence of the natural wood and hide materials that make each drum, and the power animals and symbols painted on them, are invoked to guide each meditation to a place of healing and wholeness.

Drums can be made with goat, deer, elk, cow, horse, moose or buffalo hide. They can be painted to depict any symbol, animal essence, power place, or any combination thereof.
